Scream on the Green® returns, with a costume contest, music and a screening of Hocus Pocus

Costume contest registration is onsite at the Anheuser-Busch stage from 6:45 – 8:15 pm.

The contest begins at 7 pm and winners are announced at 9:30 pm.

Costumes will be judged based on originality, execution, and overall appearance. Contest prizes include tickets to Green Mountain Energy Ice at Discovery Green, gift cards to The Grove, an H-E-B Celebration Zone reservation and more.

There are six costume categories: infant to 8 years old, 9 years old to 18 years old, best male over age 18, best female over age 18, best family costume and best dog costume.

Music will be provided by DJ Mohawk Steve while roaming characters by Cirque Olympus will entertain the crowd.

Hocus Pocus will be shown starting at 7:30 pm. The Scream on the Green movie is sponsored by One Medical.

Hocus Pocus

Three 17th-century witches, hanged for their murderous crimes, are resurrected on Halloween in modern-day Salem by an unsuspecting boy, who must now figure out how to get them back in the ground. (PG) 1993. 1 hour 36 min.

Anheuser-Busch Stage

The Anheuser-Busch Stage is a state-of-the-art outdoor concert venue, with audio and lighting systems designed to enhance the unique diversity of Houston’s performing and visual arts, as well as all musical genres. The backdrop of the stage is a magnificent view of Houston’s downtown skyline. The stage faces the Fondren Performance Space, with convenient access from Avenida de las Americas and the George R. Brown Convention Center. The stage can accommodate an oversized movie screen, with projection capabilities for outdoor movies, audio/visual slideshows and presentations, and live feeds.
