Discovery Green Conservancy, in partnership with Citizens Environmental Coalition is proud to announce this year’s Green Mountain Energy Earth Day will feature the Houston Public Works’ popular Water Works Festival.
It will be held from 12 – 5 p.m. on Earth Day which is Saturday, April 22. Entrance is free and all are welcome.
This year’s Green Mountain Energy Earth Day theme is water. As one of the central environmental issues the proper care and management of Houston’s water is a topic that affects everyone. The city’s present and future relies on it.
The Water Works Festival will bring their interactive exhibits to Discovery Green to educate families about this vital natural resource. Expect family-friendly performances, live music, art installations, face painting, crafts and activities. Educational talks, panel discussions, spoken word performances and more will be provided. And, of course, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the water features at Discovery Green.
Exhibitor applications are now being accepted. Early bird pricing is available until March 22. To apply visit www.discoverygreen.com/earthday.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available, please contact Stephanie Carroll at stephanie@discoverygreen.com for more information.
This will be a zero-waste event. Please plan on bringing your own refillable water bottles and utensils. Exhibitors will be asked to ensure waste is minimized by only providing reusable or compostable items.
