Jazzy Sundays in the Parks: Houston Ensemble

Founded by internationally renowned musicians Armov, Chad Wesselkamper, and Cory Wilson. Houston Ensemble is reinvigorating the live-music scene in Texas and perfecting the urban music styles born out of Houston.
As a band, Houston Ensemble has performed at virtually every live-music venue in town, including Discovery Green, 8th Wonder Brewery. Axelrad, Cezanne, The Ready Room, and many more. Established in the summer of 2020, Houston Ensemble has already made waves in publications like Houston Chronicle, Shoutout Texas, ABCIO and Great Day Houston.
Houston Ensemble specializes in the rich sounds of contemporary urban music, including R&B, Blues, Hip-hop, Jazz, and Neo-Soul. The band has performed as a trio, small group, and big band alongside world-class soloists and singers like Vincent Powell from American Idol and Shawn Sounds from The Voice.
Opener: The Adam DeWalt Experience
The Adam DeWalt Experience (TADE) is a vibrant jazz fusion ensemble known for its intricate improvisation and genre-defying rhythms. The band consists of professional musicians reigning from Houston, TX that have experience in jazz, gospel, R&B, and many other genres.
The group is led by Adam DeWalt, the trumpet player. Adam has been a featured musician on Emmy-nominated projects with Grammy-winning artists. Some in which he’s had the opportunity to play alongside performers such as; Solange Knowles, Verdine White from EWF, Sampha, and many more.
ABOUT JAZZY SUNDAYS IN THE PARKS:
Jazzy Sundays in the Parks is a free concert series celebrating the vibrancy and rich tradition of jazz as well as the incredible Houstonians who preserve the artform.
The concerts will be held Sundays, March 2, 9, 16 and 23 at Emancipation Park; Sundays, April 6, 13, 20 and 27 at Discovery Green; and Sundays, May 11, 18, 25 and June 1 at The Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park from 5-7 pm.
All concerts are free and family-friendly. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Food and drink will be available for purchase. A pop-up market will be on site at each park with locally crafted items, food and wearables.
Jazzy Sundays, made possible by a grant from Kinder Foundation, is organized by Discovery Green Conservancy in collaboration with Emancipation Park Conservancy and Buffalo Bayou Partnership.
