The Little BIPOC Book Fest at Discovery Green returns for a second year with its annual celebration of diversity in books! The free festival features a fresh lineup of local children’s authors, reading performances, book vendors and activities, including Harris County Public Library’s Curiosity Cruiser and TrueLeap Pop-up Library. Free. Saturday, March 9, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Pequeña fiesta del libro BIPOC en Discovery Green Sábado 9 de marzo 10:30 a.m. a 2:30 p.m. La pequeña fiesta del libro BIPOC invita a los niños de 3 a 10 años a descubrir libros diversos que presentan las experiencias de las personas de raza negra, indígena y de color. Los participantes disfrutarán de un espectáculo único de ópera de cuentos, lecturas de autores locales, manualidades, libros gratuitos y mucho más.

Sarofim Picnic Lawn

The Sarofim Picnic Lawn is a wide-open lawn space that is perfect for more than just a picnic. The Lawn is near the John P. McGovern Playground, the Mist Tree, and the Kinder Large Dog and the Harriet and Joe Foster Dog Runs, making it a perfect place for family get-togethers, such as reunions or birthday parties. The Lawn can also accommodate small private corporate events or client receptions. The Lawn has two permanent picnic tables, and borders the Andrea and Bill White Promenade.
