Discovery Green, downtown Houston’s 12-acre urban oasis, is proud to announce the return of Santa’s Little Yelpers presented by H-E-B on Saturday, December 7 from 12-3 pm.

At the event, furry four-legged friends can get their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus for a suggested $5 donation. Mix and mingle with fellow dog lovers, including Houston-based nonprofit animal rescue organization, Pippy’s Pals Rescue, all while enjoying holiday music and a live set from DJ Good Grief. Treats for humans and their furry friends will be available for purchase.

“Discovery Green prides itself in serving as a village green, offering a safe environment for humans and their furry friends to relax and explore,” said Kathryn Lott, president of Discovery Green Conservancy. “We rely on the generosity of partners such as H-E-B to ensure that we’re able to produce events such as Santa’s Little Yelpers, where even the furriest Houstonians can have fun at the park.”

Discovery Green is a welcoming environment for humans and dogs alike. The park is home to two dog runs – the Kinder Large Dog Run and the Harriet and Joe Foster Small Dog Run. Both offer a safe and spacious space for four-legged friends to run around and play, as well as seating for pet owners.

In addition to Santa’s Little Yelpers, Discovery Green will host a number of holiday-centric events including Carols on the Green with Houston Grand Opera, a free screening of The Year Without a Santa Claus and Sundays with Santa on the park’s outdoor ice-skating rink.
